The History of Gil's Wholesale - Ice Cream Supplies Division
Gil's Wholesale Distributors, Inc. was established in 1978 as a wholesale cigar, tobacco and candy distributor serving South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Originally started out of a garage, the operation moved into a 2000 sq.ft. store front. As Gil's Wholesale continued to evolve into a major distributor to the burgeoning Ice Cream, Italian Ice, Gelato and Frozen Dessert trade, an increasing demand for their products and services yet again necessitated further expansion. In 1996 the company moved into the landmark Roman Lumber building at 11th & McKean Street in Philadelphia, and preserved much of the original buildings 100-year-old history & character. Before Roman Lumber, this site was previously used as an ice house with a stable for the horses and wagons, to provide refrigeration through hot Philadelphia summers.
In 2016, Gil's Wholesale relocated once again to a larger, more modern facility in Glenolden, Pennsylvania, 10 minutes from Philadelphia International Airport, to continue to provide the same outstanding service and attention to our Ice Cream, Gelato & Italian Ice customers. Located at 320 W Oak Lane, Gil's Ice Cream Supplies provides a fast and friendly experience for their customers. No Membership required!

Established in 1978, our delivery area is PA, NJ, and DE and we ship throughout the U.S. and abroad by common carrier. Call for rates, minimums & exclusions. *Please note: Ice Cream Mix is a refrigerated product. Delivery Exclusions apply. We also offer convenient Pick Up services at our customer-friendly showroom.
With over 40 years of experience and over 8,000 SKU’s, we stock Ice Cream Mix, Italian Ice Flavors & Bases, Gelato ingredients, Variegates, Toppings, Syrups, Cones, candy, janitorial supplies, and concession items such as popcorn and snow cone supplies. We also carry paper & plastic items such as cups, utensils, straws, napkins and containers for serving, manufacturing and packaging to simplify your ordering.
